Yard Bark!
Call or email Sparky Bark for an estimate. This is not exclusive to front yards. You can bark your front and back and side yards. You can bark bark bark. :) Although you will be purchasing your own bark and have the option to choose different styles, your Board recommends “fine bark” for a uniform color through the community.
Sparky Bark offered our HOA the best price and has great references.
Dollars are also saved using a fine dark bark that matches previous bark, negating the need to bark areas with a satisfactory layer.
Mention that you are in the Illahee neighborhood when you contact:

Your HOA Board has vetted and
negotiated and argued—er—”discussed” many options and the Board is pleased with
the Yard Bark decision. The common
areas within Illahee will receive fresh fine dark bark the week of October
28th by Sparky Bark.
A large one-time assessment for every
homeowner would have been required for the HOA to bark every front yard, and
the assessment could not have been fairly distributed according to bark required for each front yard. Therefore, it
seems good to the Board to, instead, recommend to you the company we hired for our
common areas. Call or email Sparky Bark for an estimate. This is not exclusive to front yards. You can bark your front and back and side yards. Hahaha! Flood delay! Party delayed until spring
It’s not just raining, it’s a flood from the skies! Our party will be delayed until spring…
We anticipate a couple more neighborhood events through the winter before
the spring party. Halloween photos of decorated
homes & disguised trick-or-treaters just may be seen on these pages! A progressive open house near the holidays
would be cozy, as would dinner parties among neighbors – some to host &
some to delight in being served, and definitely spur of the moment sledding parties
when the snow hits, with neighbors bringing hot cider and cookies!
Thank you to all who participated in the poll to determine the time
& day of our celebration – the poll worked well, and we can use that technology
in the future.
The Climber is ready for play!
Even without our “celebration.” I enjoyed the sight of a lot of kids and
parents together at the park on Friday afternoon.
Information is upcoming about an opportunity for yard bark!
Go Seahawks!

Neighborhood Celebration - Sunday 22nd 4:00-6:00pm
Hellooooo Illahee!
If it is not raining...
Come out to our Illahee Park this Sunday 4-6pm. Bring finger food or drinks for 12 people (appetizer, dessert, any finger food of your choice) to share.
Sports fans: Join us when the Seahawks have wrapped up! Should be shortly past 4!
Basketball: We'll have some sort of 3 on 3 contest on the short court, bring your game!
Bike races: We will block off a segment of road for just a few minutes at a time for kids' bike races, organized by age group, 3-18. We will need volunteers along the routes to hold traffic & watch driveways. The 13-18 year old categories are dependent on volunteers. More volunteers are needed for the 13-18 year olds who would use longer courses including the 2 major intersections :)
Chalk Art Contest: Draw anytime from 4-5:30, and at 5:40 winners in age categories (including adults!) will be announced. Bring your chalk or use some that we round up! Can I have volunteers for the judging team?
Playground: Try our new Sierra Climber! The existing playground equipment has also been repaired. Great reason to celebrate!
Clean up: Even the youngest of us is old enough to clean up :)
Any other activities? If you'd like to organize softball or frisbee or volleyball or a plant-swap, or any other activity, we'd love it, let us know!
We hope to see you this Sunday 4-6pm at our park!
Your 2013 HOA Board,
Jeannine Pound, Aparna Nene, Shantanu Sardesai

kids, a chalk art contest on the sidewalk, perhaps some 3 on 3 basketball
on the 1/2-court? Are you catching the vision?

Garage sale - over for this year:
Saturday August 17th, we held our annual neighborhood garage sale!A big THANK YOU to Lori Stark of Lot 8 for volunteering to organize this Illahee event! Lori advertised in the local papers and signed the local area. She calls our 2013 sale a "mild success" with 9-10 homes participating, probably due to the late summer date coinciding with summer vacations. Perhaps next year we will try for an earlier date, so you can start that pile of garage sale items growing again :)
My kids thought the sale was a SUPER success as they were thrilled to find treasures for quarters just down our block. Our neighbors, the Wright family of lot 77, were equally thrilled to offload all said treasures to my family and their kids' pockets were jingling when the Pound family left!

At last!
Playground Update!
Expect installation of our green Sierra Climber on Monday SEPTEMBER 16th. We expect the Climber to be tamper resistant with ability to hold up against big kid play. The 2 existing structures will be repaired. We hope to gather a community work party to prepare the lot for the “Climber" on the weekend of September 14-15, and to repair the aging park benches. Look for work party plans, and involve our teenagers - our teens could do a spectacular job, and take ownership of and pride in the playground project.
